QSE near stable at Wednesday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading session in red territory, pressured by the fall of five sectors.   

The general index dropped 10.90 points, or 0.11%, to end the session at 10,222.98 points.

The bourse’s trading volume reached 9.26 million shares, up from 7.64 million on Tuesday, while liquidity jumped to QAR 140.29 million, against QAR 113.62 million.

The consumer goods and services sector shed 0.30% as Al Meera Consumer Goods Company’s stock decreased 1.19%, while the banks and financial services sector inched down 0.10% after Qatar Oman Investment’s stock lost 2.89%.

On the other hand, the telecoms sector increased 0.27% as Ooredoo’s stock grew 0.42%, while the industrials sector edged up 0.08% after Qatar Aluminums Manufacturing Company’s (QAMCO) stock went up 4.14%.

QAMCO’s stock topped the bourse in terms of both trading volume and value after 6.35 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of QAR 84.87 million.
