Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading in the green, encouraged by the goods and services sector.
By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 0.06% to 9,150.81 points, adding 5.37 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 48.9 million after 2.7 million shares traded through 401 transactions.
The goods and services sector rose 0.33% to be the only gainer after Al Meera Consumer Goods Company increased 1.35%.
Meanwhile, the industrial sector topped the bourse's five losers with 0.09%, dragged by the fall of Qatar Electricity and Water Company and Aamal Company with 1.04% and 0.35%, respectively.
The banking sector inched down 0.06% on the back of the Commercial Bank’s 1.04% drop.
Qatar First Bank headed the QSE’s trading volume with 1.2 million shares, while Doha Bank, which declined 0.32%, led the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 15.5 million.
