Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Sunday’s trading in the green, encouraged by the growth of five sectors.
By 10:10 am Qatar time, the general index grew 47.99 points, or 0.52%, to 9,203.54 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 54.89 million after 2.12 million shares changed hands through 711 transactions.
The real estate sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.35% as Ezdan Holding Group and Barwa Real Estate Development grew 2.07% and 0.36%, respectively.
Similarly, the banking sector levelled up 0.72% after Qatar National Bank rose 1.30%.
Meanwhile, the insurance sector topped the bourse’s losers falling 0.58%, dragged by Qatar Insurance which went down 0.85%.
The telecommunication sector inched down 0.02% due to Ooredoo’s 0.23% drop.
Mesaieed’s stock, which declined 1.12%, headed the market in terms of trading volume with 885,300 shares, generating QAR 14.9 million in a liquidity.
