QSE opens Thursday higher on blue chips

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw a positive performance in Thursday’s early trades, backed by the rise of blue chips.

The general index added 0.19% or 20.54 points to reach 10,772.64 points by 10:15am Qatar time.

The real estate sector grew 0.33%, spurred by the rise of three stocks, topped by Ezdan Holding Group.

Barwa Real Estate was the most active stock after trading 463,600 shares worth QAR 18 million.

The banks sector grew 0.25% as Qatar First Bank (QFB) went up 1.85%.

On the other hand, the consumer staples sector fell 0.08% as Al Meera Consumer Goods Co sank 0.77%.

The transportation sector tumbled 0.02% due to a decline in Nakilat by 0.09%.

The market generated OMR 79.5 million from the exchange of 2.3 million shares through 1,010 transactions.
