Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday up as its main index jumped 76.98 points, or 0.84%, to 8,730.30 points.
By 10:00 am Qatar time, the QSE’s trading volume reached 2.6 million shares changed hands through 902 transactions with a turnover of QAR 47.2 million.
The transportation sector rose 2.37% after Qatar Navigation’s (Milaha) stock grew 5.43%, while Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) stock levelled up 1.17%.
The consumer goods and services sector increased 2.04% as Mannai Corporation’s stock gained 4.54%, while the industrial segment rose 1.12% after Aamal Company’s (Aamal) stock went up 3.94%.
The banking sector added 1.01% as Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock added1.55%.
On the other hand, the insurance sector decreased 2.99% after Qatar Insurance Company’s stock fell 4.59%.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which advanced 1.72%, was the most active after 1.5 million shares were exchanged, generating QAR 13.3 million.
