Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Thursday’s trading session in red territory.
By 10:28 am Qatar time, the general index retreated 31.2 points, or 0.31%, to 10,046 points.
The QSE’s turnover amounted to QAR 71.36 million after 2.58 million shares were traded.
The real estate sector was the only faller with 0.15%.
The banking sector led risers with 0.52%, followed by the transportation and consumer services sectors which both added 28%.
Qatari Investors Group topped decliners and slid 4.97% to QAR 25.61, whereas Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding topped gainers after soaring 3.68% to QAR 16.9.
The heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which grew 1.05%, led the QSE in terms of turnover of QAR 23.17 million after 130,170 shares were traded, while the Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding’s stock registered the highest trading volume of 865,000 shares.
