QSE opens Wednesday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday in red territory, after its benchmark fell 17.52 points, or 0.17%, to 10,250.55 points.

By 9:50 am Qatar time, the QSE’s trading volume reached 383,200 shares exchanged through 369 transactions at a turnover of QAR 11.5 million.

The insurance sector dipped 1.05% leading losers as Qatar Insurance Company’s stock declined 1.57%, while the industrials sector inched down 0.29% after Gulf International Services’ stock dropped 1.36%.

On the other hand, the telecoms sector edged up 0.29% after Ooredoo’s stock rose 0.61%, while the banking sector levelled up 0.23% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock grew 0.63%.

Doha Bank’s stock, which was stable at QAR 20, topped the bourse in terms of traded volume after 100,200 shares were exchanged, while QNB’s stock posted the highest liquidity after generating QAR 2.6 million.
