QSE opens in green on banks stocks

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index opened Sunday with a rise of 0.11% or 10.5 points to the level of 9,824.48 points.

Trading volume reached 415,900 shares exchanged through 373 transactions, making a turnover of QAR 13.2 million.

The banking sector grew 0.76% as Qatar National Bank QNB and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) increased by 1.76% and 0.82% respectively.

The real estate sector also advanced 0.01%, while the telecom, transportation, industrial and consumer goods opened in the red zone..

Qatar Insurance topped gainers by adding 3.38%, Al Meera led decliners after falling 1.4%.

Vodafone Qatar was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 84,500 shares, while Gulf International made the highest liquidity with QAR 2 million.

The index fell on Thursday by 1.96% or 200 points to the level of 9,813.96 points.
