QSE opens in red on banking, industrial sectors

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index opened Sunday with a fall of 0.36% or 38.42 points to the level of 9,678.06 points.

Trading volume reached 437,578 shares exchanged at QAR 13.7 million through 411 trades.

The banking and industrial sectors were the worst performers, dropping 0.86% and 0.30% respectively, while real estate and insurance were the only risers, adding 0.12% and 0.10% respectively.

Qatar Industrial Manufacturing led gainers, rising 2.4% as 470,000 shares were exchanged at QAR 18,800.

Meanwhile, Qatar First Bank (QFB) topped decliners after falling 2.3% with a trading volume of 940,000 shares traded at QAR 18,800.

Gulf International recorded the highest activity with a volume of 109,200 traded shares and a turnover of QAR 4.2 million.

The index closed Thursday’s session at the level of 9,716.48 points.
