QSE plunges 83 pts, market cap falls QAR 2.5bn in week

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) slid 1.06% or 83.31 points to reach 7,742.46 points in the week ended on Thursday, 23 November, compared to 7,825.77 points in the previous week.

On a weekly basis, the QSE’s market capitalisation value shed 0.59% or QAR 2.5 billion, reaching QAR 418.06 billion on 23 November, compared to QAR 420.54 billion.

The bourse’s liquidity grew 6.04% to QAR 867.64 million, from QAR 818.21 million, while trading volume surged 37.85% to reach 37 million shares on Thursday, 23 November, compared to 27.19 million in the week earlier.

On a weekly basis, transactions increased 12%, to 14,540 transactions,from 12,980 deals.

The banks sector topped the bourse in terms of traded value with 42.8%, followed by industrials with 25.8%, real estate with 4.1%, and transportation with 7.5%.

Industrials sector led in terms of trading volume with 28.5%, followed by banks with 28.4%, real estate with 15.4%, and telecoms with 12.4%.

Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock acquired 17.1% of the stocks' traded value, followed by Gulf International Services’ stock with 8.7%, and Doha Bank’s stock with 6.3%.

24 stocks went down, led by Mannai Corporation’s stock with 9.87%, whereas 20 stock grew, and one stock remained unchanged.
