Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index ended August rising 3.64% or 385.83 points to close at 10,989.79 points as compared to 10,603.96 points in July.
The market’s liquidity grew 75.4% to QAR 6.8 billion during August compared with QAR 3.87 billion in July.
Trading volume increased 66.5% to reach 163.8 million shares that were traded through nearly 99,900 transactions.
QSE’s market cap gained 6.76% or QAR 19.9 billion ($5.4 billion) to stand at QAR 588.6 billion ($161.5 billion) in August from QAR 568.7 billion ($165 billion) in July.
During August, the telecom sector topped eight gainers by a 6.93% rise, followed by the insurance and banks sectors which levelled up 6.2% and 5.6% respectively.
Meanwhile, the real estate and consumer goods sectors were the only decliners this month by a f all of 2.12% and 1.41% respectively.
