Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) revved up by the end of Tuesday’s session to settle 0.64% or 65.87 points higher at 10,297.39 points.
The All Share Index also swung 0.67% higher to 2,871.6 points and Al Rayan Islamic Index grew 1.32% to 4,067.51 points.
Trading volume increased 79.4% to 15.48 million shares from 8.63 million shares exchanged on Monday. Turnover also rose 66.8% to QAR 476.26 million from QAR 285.48 million.
The real estate was the best performing sector after adding 3.76%, followed by the consumer goods and services sector with an increase of 1.31%, while the insurance and banking sectors fell by 1.17% and 0.44% respectively.
Widam Food topped gainers after adding 9.9%, hitting its highest level since end-2014 at QAR 66.6, while Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance was the worst performer with a 5.68% decrease.
Mazaya Qatar was the largest-traded stock as 3.66 million shares changed hands, while Gulf Warehousing outperformed in terms of values with turnover of QAR 73 million.
The main gauge closed yesterday with a rise of 0.42% or 42.3 points to the level of 10,231.52 points.
