QSE recovers for 1st time after tie-break

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) rose in Tuesday’s mid-session, just a day after the index had dropped 7.27% on news that Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE cut diplomatic relations with Qatar.

By 10:58 am Qatar time, the index gained 0.14% or 13.34 points to reach 9,215.96 points.

The telecoms sector grew 1.31% as Ooredoo increased 1.77%.

The industrials sector went up 0.72% after Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) and Industries Qatar levelled up 1.80% and 1.54%, respectively.

The banks sector increased 0.46% as Al Khalij Commercial Bank surged 6.9%.

On the other hand, three sectors fell, topped by the transportation sector with 2.37%, followed by the insurance sector with 2.1%, and the real estate sector with 1.08%.

Traded value reached 14.59 million shares, with a turnover of QAR 402.23 million.
