Doha - Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed 0.25% or 26.23 points lower at 10,390.6 points on Thursday.
The index’s performance was affected by a collective drop of sectors, with exception of the insurance sector which rose 0.17%.
The drop was led by the consumer staples sector which declined 0.89%, weighed down by Medicare Group with 3.6%.
The banks and financial services sector slid 0.42% due to the drop of Ahli Bank by 5.29% and QNB by 0.48%.
Industries edged down 0.41%, as Qatari Investors dropped 1.92% and Industries Qatar tumbled 0.27%.
Turnover rose to QAR 334.61 million on Thursday against QAR 289.37 million on Wednesday, while traded volume declined to 10.37 million against 11.55 million shares.
Vodafone Qatar was the volume leader with about 1.94 million traded shares, while Qatar International Islamic Bank was the value leader with liquidity amounting to QAR 54.3 million.
The main index of the QSE fell 0.06% mid-Thursday, down to the level of 10,410.95 points.
