QSE rises 0.2% on industrial, banks stocks

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday with a growth of  0.2% or 19.64 points to the level of 9,825.25 points.

The index was backed by the rise in QNB, Ezdan Holding, Industries Qatar, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and Qatar Electricity and Water by 0.58%, 0.28%, 0.91%, 0.1% and 0.05% respectively.

Trading volume increased 19.83% to 2.9 million shares from 2.42 million shares exchanged on Sunday, turnover also rose 30.54% to QAR 119.55 million from QAR 91.58 million.

The industrial sector was the best performer after rising 0.55%, backed by an increase of 0.8% in Gulf International Services which made the highest trading activity with a volume of 646,820 shares exchanged at QAR 24.39 million shares.

The real estate and banking sectors also advanced by 0.37% and 0.29% respectively.

On the other hand, the telecom, transportation and insurance sectors shrank by 0.7%, 0.26% and 0.17% respectively.
