Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday in the green zone after gaining 1.28% or 125.89 points, reaching 9,991.67 points.
Most of the sectors rose, with the exception of the consumer goods and services sector which fell 0.13% as Qatar Fuel (Woqod) lost 1.42%.
The telecoms sector increased 2.4% after Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar grew 2.61% and 1%, respectively.
The real estate sector gained 1.63% as Ezdan Holding Group went up 2%.
The banks sector levelled up 1.22% after Qatar National Bank (QNB) and The Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) increased 1.68% and 1.74%, respectively.
Zad Holding Company led risers with 4.07%, whereas Doha Insurance Company was the worst performer with a drop of 4.13%.
Traded volume dropped to 7.28 million shares on Wednesday against 7.77 million shares on Tuesday, while liquidity declined to QAR 182.02 million against QAR 252.18 million.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume and value, after 2.61 million shares were exchanged at a liquidity of QAR 23.6 million.
Earlier on Wednesday, the main index inched down 0.02% to reach 9,863.69 points.
