Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index added 143.52 points, or 1.62%, to close at 9,024.03 points in June.
Market capitalisation rose 0.39% to QAR 493.7 billion, compared to QAR 491.8 billion a month earlier.
The telecommunication sector gained 7.9%, while the consumer goods and services went up 6.8%.
The insurance, transportation, and industrials sectors increased by 4.9%, 4.4%, and 1.2%, respectively.
On the flip side, the real estate sector lost 2.2% and the banks sector shed 0.9%.
In June, 25 stocks grew topped by National Leasing Holding, which soared 29.2%, while 20 stocks declined, led by Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company, which tumbled 18.1%.
The QSE’s liquidity dropped 25.6% to QAR 7.9 billion in the sixth month of 2018, whereas the market’s trading volume levelled down 36.04% to 170.1 million shares.
Over the month, transactions fell 27.3% to 78,360 versus 107,740 in the previous month.
