QSE rises 2.5% in week after repeated losses

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw a healthy performance during the week ended on Thursday, 12 October, after witnessing continuous losses for ten weeks.

Over the week, the main index rose 2.58% to 8,342.09, as compared to 8,132.05 points last week.

Market capitalisation hiked 2.28% or QAR 10.1 billion to QAR 453.8 billion from QAR 443.7 billion.

The traded value totalled QAR 845.6 million, as compared to QAR 824.3 million the week before, growing 2.59%.

The trading volume also rose 0.96% to 38.9 million shares from 38.5 million shares.

Executed transactions during the week increased 20.42% to 12,700 transactions, as compared to 10,600 last week.

The banks sector was the leader in terms of traded value with 45.1%, followed by the industrial, real estates, and consumer goods sectors with 20.1%, 13.9%, and 5.9%, respectively.

Moreover, the banks sector topped in terms of trading volume with 32.5%, followed by the industrials, real estates, and telecommunications sectors, with 23.5%, 23.2%, and 10.3%, respectively.

QNB was the leader stock in terms of trading value with 21.3%, followed by Qatar Industries and AL Rayan with 7.1% and 6.4%, respectively.

During the week, 26 stocks rose, topped by Ahli Bank with 10.02%, while 18 shares declined, led by Islamic holding with 6.9%, with only one company remained unchanged.
