Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) recorded a weekly rise of 4.66% or 464.41 points to the level of 10,428.67 points.
Turnover surged 220% to QAR 876.67 million from QAR 273.96 million last week, trading volume also increased by 291.7% to QAR 23.23 million shares from 5.93 million shares.
The market’s sectors leapt collectively, topped by the insurance sector with a growth of 7.73%, followed by the banking, real estate sectors as they rose by 4.92% and 4.65% respectively.
Qatar Insurance was the week’s top gainer after adding 10.08%, while Ahli Bank was the worst performing stock after falling 3.25%.
QNB led the week’s trading activity with a stake of 13.31% of total turnover, followed by Industries Qatar and Gulf Warehousing with stakes of 12.74% and 7.57% respectively.
The market capitalisation rose by 4.12% to QAR 559.69 billion, versus QAR 537.55 billion a week ago.
