QSE rises 7.31 pts at Tuesday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday in the green zone, after gaining 0.07% or 7.31 points to reach 10,125.44 points.

Most of the sectors rose, with the exception of the industrials and banks sectors.

The industrials sector fell 0.24% as Industries Qatar and Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) decreased 1.24% and 0.29%, respectively.

The banks sector dropped 0.30% after Ahli Bank retreated 4.28%, followed by National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) with 1.37%, Qatar National Bank (QNB) 1.06%, Doha Bank 0.63%, Qatar First Bank (QFB) with 0.60%, and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) with 0.16%.

The transportation sector went up 0.82% as Gulf Warehousing Company and Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) gained 1.96% and 1.05%, respectively.

The real estate sector increased 0.52% after Barwa grew 2.21%, followed by Mazaya Qatar with 0.66%, and United Development Company with 0.42%.

The consumer goods and services sector levelled up 0.36% as Al Meera Consumer Goods Company rose 2.61%, in addition to the telecoms sector which edged up 0.3% after Ooredoo gained 0.75%.

Traded volume increased to 8.55 million shares on Tuesday against 8.50 million shares on Monday, while liquidity rose to QAR 243.55 million from QAR 170.98 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume with 2.39 million shares traded, while Barwa led in terms of liquidity with a value of QAR 57.92 million.
