Doha - Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) gained 0.46% or 47.62 points, reaching 10,391.7 points on Tuesday.
The index went up due to a rise in five sectors, especially banks which increased 0.96% after Ahli Bank, Masraf Al Rayan, Qatar National Bank (QNB), and Islamic Holding Group went up 5.59%, 3.18%, 0.34%, 0.3%, respectively.
Industrials rose 0.56%, topped by Industries Qatar with 1.01%, followed by Qatar National Cement Company, Aamal Company, and Qatar Industrials Manufacturing Company which increased 0.63%, 0.55%, and 0.46%, respectively.
Telecoms gained 0.85% as Ooredoo went up 1.12%, while insurance increased 0.74%. Real estate edged up 0.17%, affected by the rise in United Development Company and Barwa with 1.27% and 0.7%, respectively.
On the other hand, transportation slid 0.24% as Qatar Navigation and Gulf Warehousing Company lost 0.53% and 0.38%, respectively, as consumer goods and services shed 0.07%.
Trading volume increased to 10.45 million shares on Tuesday against 10.3 million on Monday, while liquidity rose to QAR 309.07 million against QAR 287.93 million.
Al Rayan’s stock led both trading volume and value through trading 2.07 million shares at QAR 86.92 million.
It is notable that the QSE main index tumbled 0.49% at the beginning of Tuesday’s trading to 10,293.47 points.
