Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Thursday’s trading session in green territory, encouraged by the growth of five sectors.
By 09:55 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 0.04% to 10,594.48 points, adding 4.24 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 15.5 million after 1.4 million shares were traded through 578 transactions.
The telecommunication sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 0.78% as Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo levelled up 1.52% and 0.41%, respectively.
Similarly, the banking sector advanced 0.13% on the back of the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) 0.55% jump.
On the negative side, the insurance sector headed the bourse’s decliners falling 0.66% as Qatar Insurance plunged 1.01%, while the goods sector went down 0.27% after Al Mira Consumer Goods and Qatar Fuel (Woqod) retreated 1.23% and 0.52%, respectively.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 392,700 shares, generating a turnover of QAR 3.3 million.
