QSE rises slightly at Thursday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index rose 0.91 points, or 0.01%, to close at 10,720.31 points on Thursday.

The QSE’s liquidity leapt to QAR 317.12 million on Thursday, from QAR 215.76 million in the previous session, while trading volume hiked to 9.55 million shares, against 6.69 million on Wednesday.

The real estate sector advanced 0.60%, led by Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development which rose 0.81%.

Meanwhile, the banking sector inched up 0.19% after Ahli BanK soared 2.62%.

On the other hand, the industrials sector retreated 0.64%, as Industries Qatar, the second heaviest-weighted stock in the general index, fell 0.97%.

Vodafone Qatar led risers with 3.33%, while Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance headed decliners after slidding 4.59%.

Vodafone Qatar's stock registered the highest trading volume of 1.63 million shares, while the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which as unchanged at QAR 197.99, led the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 76.71 million.
