QSE’s benchmark closes 18 points lower

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday’s session with a fall of 0.17% or 18 points to the level of 10,159.52 points.

The All Share Index and Al Rayan Islamic Index also fell by 0.17% or 0.32% respectively.

Turnover increased 61% to QAR 487.04 million from QAR 302.7 million on Tuesday. Trading volume also rose by 166.8% to 22.28 million shares from 8.35 million shares.

The insurance was the worst performing sector with a fall of 1.69% as Qatar

Insurance declined 2.35%.

Meanwhile, the consumer goods and banking sectors grew 0.85% and 0.46% respectively.

Al Meera Consumer Goods was the top gainer after adding 2.71%, while Qatar First Bank (QFB) led decliners after dropping 7.67%.

QFB was the most active stock with 14.18 million shares traded at QAR 214.58 million.

The main index plummeted yesterday by 0.07% or 7 points to 10,177.55 points.
