QSE’s benchmark index loses 210 pts in week

Doha – Mubasher: The main index on Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell in April’s last week by 2.02% or 210.07 points to the level of 10,186.18 points.

Al Rayan Islamic Index and the All Share Index also declined by 3.27% and 1.95% respectively.

The bourse’s sectors dropped collectively, topped by the real estate and services as they shrank 4.89% and 2.94% respectively, while the telecom came least in the list with a 0.53% decrease.

Out of 43 companies, eight stocks closed in green, 35 others moved down and the remaining one was flat.

Qatar First Bank led the week’s trading activity with 14.96% of the total trading value, followed by First Gulf Bank and Masraf Al Rayan with stakes of 7.27% and 7.07% respectively.

The market value shrank 1.01% to QAR 549.53 billion from QAR 555.15 billion last week.
