QSE’s index dives to over 2-month low

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday with a fall of 1.52% or 153.04 points to the level of 9,939.03 points, its lowest level since last February.

Al Rayan Islamic Index slid 1.79% to 3,879.75 points and the All Share Index shrank 1.46% to 2,777.18 points.

Trading volume reached 8.97 million shares exchanged at QAR 317.93 million, compared to 9.34 million shares exchanged yesterday at QAR 268.41 million.

Real estate and telecom were the worst performing sectors with a decrease of 3.08% and 1.96% respectively.

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution topped gainers by adding 8.42%, while Widam Food led decliners after falling 6.73%.

In terms of trading volume, Widam dominated as 1.5 million shares were exchanged at QAR 91.78 million through 190 trades.

The bourse’s benchmark index closed yesterday with a fall of 0.94% or 96 points to the level of 10,092.07 points.
