Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Sunday’s trading session in the red.
By 9:57 am Qatar time, the general index fell 0.6% to 9,154.92 points, losing 51.2 points.
The QSE's turnover amounted to QAR 15.92 million after 544,540 shares traded through 443 transactions.
The insurance sector topped the bourse's losers plunging 1.5%, followed by the real estate sector, which declined 1.42% after Barwa Real Estate dropped 2.2%.
Meanwhile, the transportations sector and the banking sector rose 0.35% and 0.04%, respectively.
Al Khaleej Takaful Group’s stock topped the market’s decliners losing 5.66%, while Qatar Oman Investment’s stock led the QSE’s gainers with 2.2%.
Al Meera Consumer Goods Company, which slid 1.95%, spearheaded the QSE’s liquidity with QSE 3.85 million, while Vodafone Qatar topped the market in terms of trading volume with 72,500 shares.
