QSE sheds 42 pts at Tuesday's close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday's trading session in negative territory, pressured by a massive decline of all sectors.  

The benchmark index fell by 41.57 points, or 0.47%, to finish the mid-week session at 8,895.21 points.

The bourse’s traded volume stood at 4.51 million shares on Tuesday, against 6.65 million shares on Monday, while trading value amounted to QAR 216.67 million, down from QAR 219.31 million.

The real estate sector fell 1.33% as Ezdan Holding Group’s stock declined 2.37%, while the banks and financial services sector inched down 0.50% after the stocks of Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled down 2.30% and 0.33%, respectively.

The industrial sector edged down 0.16% as Qatar Electricity and Water Company’s (QEWC) stock went down 1.37%.

Dlala Brokerage Investment Holding’s stock, which added 4.82%, was the most active in terms of trading volume after 1.19 million shares were exchanged, with a turnover of QAR 18.64 million.
