Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) decreased 1.29% or 118.75 points, reaching 9,069.34 points on Monday.
Most of the sectors fell with the exception of the real estate sector which rose 1.76%.
The telecoms sector dropped 2.6% as Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar declined 2.77% and 1.72%, respectively.
The banks sector went down 1.17% and the industrials sector tumbled 1.7%.
Qatar Islamic Insurance was the worst performer with 5%, whereas Ezdan Holding Group topped risers with 3.52%.
Trading volume dropped to 8.85 million on Monday against 9.79 million on Sunday, whereas liquidity rose to QAR 220.98 million from QAR 219.49 million.
Ezdan’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume with 3.09 million shares exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock led in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 38.83 million.
Earlier on Monday, the benchmark index lost 0.2% or 18.58 points to reach 9,169.51 points.
