QSE slides 135 pts at Tuesday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday in the red zone after declining 1.49% or 135 points, reaching 8,934.37 points.

The sectors dropped collectively, led by the consumer goods and services sector with 1.82% after Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution retreated 9.64%.

The industrials sector decreased 1.68% as Aamal lost 3.16%.

The banks sector went down 1.37% after Qatar National Bank (QNB) tumbled 1.56%.

Traded volume increased to 9.74 million shares on Tuesday against 8.85 million shares on Monday, while liquidity rose to QAR 282.92 points from QAR 220.98 million.

Ezdan Holding Group’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume with 3.08 million shares exchanged, while QNB’s stock led in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 64.45 million.

Earlier on Tuesday, the main index slipped 0.06% or 5.49 points to reach 9,063.85 points.
