QSE slides 208.29 pts at Sunday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday in the red zone, after decreasing 2.31% or 208.29 points to reach 8,822.15 points.

Most of the sectors dropped, with the exception of the transportation sector as it increased 1.78%.

The consumer goods and services sector levelled down 3.97% after Widam Food and Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution slid 8.52% and 7.88%, respectively.

The industrials sector went down 3.36% as Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) tumbled 9.29%, and the banks sector declined 2.62% after Islamic Holding Group retreated 7.36%.

QSE’s liquidity reached QAR 391.69 million after 14.29 million shares were traded.

Ezdan Holding Group’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume with 2.76 million shares were exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock led in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 65.73 million.

Earlier on Sunday, the benchmark index decreased 1.49% or 134.5 points, reaching 8,895.94 points.
