QSE slides 70 pts at Tuesday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday 0.85% or 70.44 points lower to reach 8,229.27 points.

Qatar National Bank’s (QNB), Industries Qatar, and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) stocks shed 0.48%, and 0.52% for each, respectively.

The real estate sector levelled down 3.08% as Barwa Real Estate Company’s stock dropped 3.72%, while the industrials sector lost 0.94% after Qatari Investors Group’s stock decreased 3.73%.

The banks sector tumbled 0.62% after Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock declined 4.03%.

During Tuesday’s trading session 31 stocks retreated, whereas five stocks rose, led by Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company’s stock after surging 6.64%, and four stocks remained unchanged.

The QSE’s liquidity increased to QAR 237.11 million on Tuesday, against QAR 149.01 million on Monday, while trading volume grew to 8.88 million shares, from 6.25 million shares.

QFB’s stock led the QSE in terms of traded volume after 2.8 million shares were exchanged, while QNB’s stock topped in terms of liquidity with a turnover of QAR 39.9 million.
