QSE slides 95 pts at Monday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday's trading session 0.91% or 95 points lower reaching 10,336.36 points.

The banks sector led losers, after Islamic Holding Group dropped 2.3%, whereas Qatar First Bank (QFB), up 4.63%, led rising stocks.

The real estate sector lost 0.61% as Ezdan Holding Group decreased 3.42%.

On the other hand, the transportation sector gained 0.24% as Nakilat and Milaha rose 0.38%, and 0.13%, respectively.

The insurance sector went up 0.04% after Al Khaleej Takaful Group increased 1.5%.

Liquidity on the QSE dropped to QAR 144.55 million on Monday against QAR 150.86 million on Sunday, while traded volume rose to 8.14 million shares from 7.3 million shares in the previous session.

QFB’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume and value with 2.48 million shares exchanged at a turnover of QAR 21.69 million.

Earlier on Monday the benchmark index declined 0.41% or 41.35 points down to 10,389.99 points in Monday’s early trades.
