QSE slides early Thursday, nears 9,900 pts

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell 0.54% or 53.45 points to reach 9,901.95 points in Thursday’s opening trades.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, the sectors dropped collectively led by transportation with 1.26% as Gulf Warehousing shed 1.54%, followed by Nakilat with 1.53%, and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) with 0.74%.

The real estate sector declined 0.79% after Mazaya Qatar Real Estate, Barwa Real Estate, and Ezdan Holding Group decreased 1.48%, 0.88%, and 0.84%, respectively.

The industrials sector lost 0.61% as Qatari Investors Group tumbled 1.05%, followed by Gulf International Services with 0.78%, Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) with 0.77%, and Industries Qatar with 0.69%.

The telecoms sector levelled down 0.28% after Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar slipped 0.30% and 0.22%, respectively.

The financial sector fell 0.27% as Doha Bank weighed down 2.38% and Al Khalij Commercial Bank dropped 1.79%.

On the other hand, two stocks rose led by National Leasing Holding Company (Alijarah) with 1.43%, while Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) gained 0.20%.

Liquidity reached QAR 34.51 million after 669,400 shares were traded through 424 transactions.

Vodafone Qatar was the most active in terms of volume with 174,390 shares exchanged, while Qatar National Bank (QNB) led in terms of trading value with QAR 9.97 million.
