Doha-Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw a stable performance at close on Wednesday.
The general index went up 0.11% or 11 points to reach 9,930.26 points.
Turnover declined 37.7% to QAR 108.73 million on Wednesday, compared to QAR 174.77 million on Tuesday. Trading volume fell 32.2% to 3.14 million shares, compared to 4.63 million shares.
The real estate sector advanced 0.78%, spurred by the positive performance of Ezdan Holding Group and United Development Company.
On the other hand, the insurance sector was the top loser with a 1.09% decline.
The telecom sector slipped 0.4% as Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar closed lower.
Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company led decliners after falling 3.7%, while Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIK) was the best performer with a 2.25% rise.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock after trading 468,000, with a turnover of QAR 4.93 million.
Qatar National Bank (QNB), which slipped 0.64%, was the value leader after generating QAR 18.5 million from the exchange of 132,100 shares.
