QSE stands to pocket 398 points

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index closed Sunday in the green territory after rising 4.63% or 397.60 points to 8,981.61 points.

Al Rayan Islamic Index leapt 5.61% to 3,209.51 points, and the All Shares Index jumped 4.43% to 2,388.61 points.

Trading volume reached 10.28 million shares worth QAR 277.40 million after closing 4,986 trades, compared to 5.37 million shares exchanged on Thursday at QAR 184.13 million as 3,457 transactions were carried out.

The bourse’s main sectors moved up collectively, topped by real estate and services as they grew 6.08% and 5.49% respectively, while telecom came least in the green list with an increase of 2.85%.

Out of 41 shares, 38 closed higher, another two closed in red and the remaining one was flat.

Qatar Cinema was the best performer after advancing 10%, while Mannai was the worst with a drop of 3.03%.

Mazaya Qatar recorded the biggest trading volume with 1.4 million traded shares, while Gulf International generated QAR 32 million to become the heaviest-traded stock.

The bourse’s main index closed Thursday with a drop of 1.21% or 105.36 points to the level of 8,584.01 points.
