Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Monday’s trading session at a rise, backed by the growth of six sectors.
By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 0.14% to 9,375.58 points, adding 13.16 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 16.4 million after 614,800 shares were traded through 387 transactions.
The insurance sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 0.84% as Qatar Insurance jumped 1.29%.
Similarly, the industrial sector increased 0.42% on the back of Qatar Electricity and Water Company's (QEWS) 1.58% growth, while the banking sector inched up 0.05% as Islamic Holding Group advanced 1.81%.
Meanwhile, the telecommunication sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 0.31% due to Vodafone Qatar’s 0.76% drop.
Qatar Insurance’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 129,100 shares, generating QAR 4.5 million in liquidity.
