Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Sunday’s trading session in red territory, pressured by the fall of four sectors.
By 10:10 am Qatar time, the general index inched down 0.20% to 10,347.72 points, losing 20 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 33.4 million after 636,500 shares were traded through 611 transactions.
The banking sector topped losers falling 0.89% as Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and the heavyweight Qatar International Bank (QNB) plunged 1.44% and 1.04%, respectively.
Similarly, the transportation sector declined 0.68%, while the real estate and insurance sectors went down 0.61% and 0.51%, respectively.
On the other hand, the good and services sector headed the gainers adding 1.88%, followed by the industrial and telecommunication sectors with 0.20% and 0.05%, respectively.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which rose 0.25%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 161,400 shares, generating QAR 1.3 million in liquidity.
