Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Sunday’s trading at a rise note, encouraged by the real estate and industry sectors.
By 09:55 am Qatar time, the general index grew 0.33% to 8,920.71 points, adding 29.55 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 7.3 million after 200,400 shares changed hands through 153 transactions.
The real estate sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.46%, as Ezdan Holding Group and United Development Company went up 1.72% and 0.36%, respectively.
Similarly, the industrial sector levelled up 0.94% due to Industries Qatar’s 0.94% increase.
On the negative side, the banking sector topped the bourse’s decliners falling 0.09%, dragged by Qatar Oman Investment and Qatar National Bank (QNB) which went down 3.01% and 0.15%, respectively.
Mesaieed’s stock, which retreated 1%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 84,200 shares, while QNB’s stock topped the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 3.5 million.
