Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Tuesday’s trading higher, encouraged by the growth of six sectors.
By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index grew 0.87% to 9,204.91 points, adding 79.70 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 99.2 million after 1.2 million shares were exchanged through 802 transactions.
The industrial sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.18% as Industries Qatar went up 2.29%.
Similarly, the banking sector rose 0.89%, boosted by the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) 1.24% increase.
On the negative side, the goods and services was the bourse’s only decliner losing 0.19% as Qatar Fuel (Woqod) and Salam International Investment Limited went down 0.65% and 0.37%, respectively.
QNB’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 374,900 shares, generating QAR 61.4 million in liquidity.
