Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) losses mounted up on Tuesday, as the main index declined 0.82% or to 82.03 points to the level of 9,959.67 points.
Al Rayan Islamic Index slipped 0.88% to 3,668.84 points, and the All Shares Index moved down 0.87% to 2,656.55 points.
Trading volume reached 3.48 million shares worth QAR 129.2 million through 2,783 trades, compared to 3.05 million shares exchanged in 2,317 trades valued at QAR 108.82 million.
The main sectors fell semi-collectively, as banking, real estate slipped 1.31% and 1.15%, respectively, while transportation was the only riser with a gain of 0.39%.
Out of 39 companies, 12 shares closed higher, 26 went down and one was flat.
Islamic Holding was today’s best performer as it grew 8.28%, whereas Qatar General Insurance and Re-Insurance was the weakest share after shrinking 5.19%.
Vodafone Qatar made the strongest trading volumes with 496,000 shares changed hands, while Islamic Holding scored the highest turnover as it generated QAR 16 million.
The bourse’s main index plummeted yesterday by 2.64% or 272.04 points to the level of 10,041.70 points.
