Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed the week on a negative note after its sectors droped collectively.
The QSE's general index shed 1.20% or 124.81 points to 10,287.70 points.
Market capitalisation increased 1.02% to QAR 587.92 billion from QAR 593.97 billion.
The QSE’s sectors fell collectively, led by the insurance sector, which lost 4.69%, followed by the industrial and telecom sectors, which declined 1.97% and 1.58%, respectively, while the transport, consumer goods, real estate and banking sector shed 1.22%, 0.75%, 0.63%, and 0.30%, respectively.
Only 16 sectors ended the week in the green, led by Qatar Cinema, which surged 12.63%, whereas 30 stocks ended lower.
Turnover dropped 51.05% to QAR 926.99 million from QAR 1.89 billion last week, while traded volume decreased 43.34% to 54.44 million shares from 96.08 million.
It is worth noting that the week ended 20 December witnessed significantly higher trades on the back listing Qatar Aluminum (QAMCO).
