QSE suffers weekly losses amid lower liquidity

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) edged down in the week ended 2 February 2017.

The general index fell 3.82% or 419.355 points to reach 10.570.41 points this week.

Turnover amounted to QAR 997.93 million this week, compared to QAR 1.4 billion last week. Trading volume reached 32.95 million shares, compared to 44.6 million shares.

Market capitalization reached QAR 568.1 billion this week, compared to QAR 588.41 billion last week.

The banks sector led losers with a 32.83% decline, followed by the real estate, industrial and telecom sectors at 24.43%, 12.45% and 12.16% respectively.

Qatar Commercial Bank (QNB) was the worst performer after falling 8.49%, while ZAD Holding Co. topped gainers with a 4.62% rise.
