QSE surges 114.37 pts at Monday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday in the green zone, after increasing 1.3% or 114.37 points to reach 8,936.52 points.

Most of the sectors grew, with the exception of the transportation sector as it fell 0.71%.

The telecoms sector gained 4.86% after Ooredoo went up 5.82%.

The banks sector levelled up 1.09% as Doha Bank and the Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) increased 3.28% and 3.1%, respectively.

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution surged 9.57%, whereas Zad Holding Company was the worst performer with 3.49%.

Traded volume decreased to 9.83 million shares on Monday against 14.29 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity slid to QAR 290.71 million from QAR 391.69 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume with 1.58 million shares exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock was the most active in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 35.18 million.

Earlier on Monday, the main index fell 0.18% or 15.68 points, reaching 8,806.47 points.
