Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Wednesday’s trading session at a positive note, boosted by the growth of six sectors.
By 9:45 am Qatar time, the benchmark index increased 52.65 points, or 0.54%, to 9,892.83 points.
The bourse’s trading volume reached 319,700 shares exchanged through 174 transactions at a turnover of QAR 6.9 million.
The banking sector inched up 0.86% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock rose 1.48%, while the industrial sector increased 0.41% after Qatar Electricity and Water company (QEWS) and Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding stocks grew 2.41%, and 0.12%, respectively.
On the other hand, the telecoms sector shed 0.19% as Vodafone Qatar’s stock decreased by 0.46%.
Barwa Real Estate’s stock, which added1.34%, topped the bourse in terms of trading volume after 104,900 shares were exchanged, generating QAR 3.8 million in a turnover.
