QSE surges 75.23 pts at Monday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday in the green zone, after growing 0.83% or 75.23 points to reach 9,135.16 points.

The sectors rose collectively for the first time since the diplomatic rift between Qatar and some Arab countries.

The insurance sector increased 3.45%, while the real estate sector gained 2.1% as Ezdan Holding Group, Barwa, and Mazaya Qatar grew 3%, 1.59%, and 0.29%, respectively.

The telecoms sector went up 1.76% and the transportation sector levelled up 1.59%.

On the other hand, five stocks decreased, after United Development Company shed 0.9%, followed by Qatari Investors Group with 0.78% and Qatar National Cement Company with 0.77%.

Traded volume rose to 13.09 million shares on Monday against 12.67 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity surged to QAR 677.68 million from QAR 337.25 million.

Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock led in terms of trading volume with 3.66 million shares exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock was the most active in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 40.63 million.

Earlier on Monday, the benchmark index fell 0.64% or 57.85 points, reaching 9,002.08 points.
