QSE to mirror trends of oil-based foreign portfolio – Analyst

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) fate is seen in the hands of oil-based foreign portfolios over the upcoming period, which leads us to turn our eyes to hydrocarbon prices; as their retreat will encourage a selling tendency of portfolio investors that would sting the benchmark, market expert Ayoub Eshban said on Thursday.

“Political factors are also playing a great role in setting the tone of regional stock markets, therefore, the current tension in the international situation reflects negatively on the local market,” Eshban told Mubasher today.

QSE main index closed Wednesday in red after declining by 0.77% or about 77.67 points, reaching the level of 10,018.84 points.
