Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday in the green zone after gaining 0.08% or 34 points, reaching 8,929.48 points.
The banks sector edged up 0.1% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) inched up 0.08%, and Masraf Al Rayan went up 1.02%.
The insurance sector levelled up 2.61% as Qatar Insurance Company increased 4%, and the telecoms sector grew 1.71% after Ooredoo gained 2.31%.
The industrials sector went up 0.1% after Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC), Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding, Aamal, Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC), and Industries Qatar rose 0.85%, 0.78%, 0.65%, 0.05%, and 0.32%, respectively.
On the flipside, the transportation sector decreased 1.61% as Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) lost 2.94%, and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) dropped 0.41%.
The consumer goods and services sector declined 1.58% after Widam Food, Qatar Fuel (Woqod), and Al Meera Consumer Goods Company tumbled 2.75%, 2.70%, and 0.30%, respectively.
The real estate sector shed 0.60% as Mazaya Qatar fell 2.11%, followed by Ezdan Holding Group with 0.81%, Barwa with 0.16%, and United Development Company with 0.06%.
Trading volume declined to 8.41 million shares on Wednesday against 13.01 million shares on Tuesday, while turnover slid to QAR 210.63 million from QAR 288.49 million.
