Mubasher: Qatar Chamber (QC) and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a cooperation protocol for the upcoming “Made in Qatar 2018” exhibition that will take place in Muscat.
The protocol was inked by Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, QC director general, and Salem al Gunaibi in Muscat, Vice Chairman of Oman Chambe, on Monday, 24 September.
The expo is scheduled to start from 5 to 9 November at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat.
"Choosing Oman as the first destination of the expo after the siege reflected our leadership's appreciation for the distinguished position that Oman enjoys among the people of Qatar,” Al Sharqi said.
The protocol aims at activating the Qatari-Omani economic relations, in addition to enhancing the strategic partnership that contributes to establishing projects and entities of economic benefits to both countries.
In 2017, Qatar-Oman trade reached more than QR3.5 billion.
The event is also an opportunity for Qatari businesspersons to discuss and forge new partnerships with their Omani counterparts and other major investors and buyers in Oman, Al Sharqi noted.
Since 5 June 2017, Qatar has been facing outflows of foreign customers' deposits after four Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia cut their diplomatic and trade ties with the gas-rich state, accusing Qatar of financing terrorism. Doha forcefully denies the charges
