Qatar, Turkey partner to build stadiums for 2022 World Cup

Mubasher: Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting Co has signed an agreement with a Turkish firm to establish and implement infrastructure projects for the stadiums of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Under this deal, the two companies will carry out a joint venture (JV) that will operate in the Qatari market for this purpose.

The Turkish firm will bring equipment and raw materials to the GCC nation as of August, while Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting will implement the construction works of Al Wakrah Stadium.

Since 5 June 2017, Qatar has been facing outflows of foreign customers' deposits after four Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia, cut their diplomatic and trade ties with the gas-rich state, accusing Qatar of financing terrorism. Doha forcefully denied the charges.
